#1 SEARCH THE TICKET FOR MISTAKES! Make sure the date, time, location, license number, name, license plate, etc... are correct.
*If you find a mistake, and you can afford it, contact an attorney that specializes in traffic tickets. They have a better chance of getting the ticket thrown out due to the special considerations afforded attorneys. Municipal court judges vary significantly and something that will get you out of a ticket in one courtroom might not in another.

*Check to see what the statute states about the specifics of the violation and compare them to your siatuation.
